Cheryl Clinton is a fine arts painter, inspired by intuitive memory and light in the landscape.
Her work indicates a collaborative approach to the arts community and study. Her paintings evoke the moods, colors, and patterns of light in the landscape.
Her passion for art making, sharing the joy of creativity as a tool for personal growth and a strong desire to heal the world, lead her on a circuitous journey over the past 25 years. Expanding her creative practice to include the study of Reiki and energy medicine, in addition to learning about regenerative farming and its capacity to heal the planet. These skills and interests feed her studio work and are integrated into her teaching practice.
Massachusetts native and traveler
Clinton became passionate about art growing up in Framingham, Massachusetts. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art, Clinton traveled to Europe. The waterways of Venice and the surf of Skopelos Island inspired her sense of the natural world. She then went on to complete her Master of Fine Arts in Visual Design from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Her family’s move in 2002 to Boylston, MA invoked childhood memories of the unspoiled beauty of rural New England. Her passion for lush landscape eventually landed her in a studio situated in the quaint setting of Holliston, MA where she currently resides with her family.

Artist Statement
Art making for me is part meditation part spiritual practice. It is how I process and integrate the mundane and the wonder of being human. The action, joy, struggle, and discovery of my creative process sometimes result in artworks to share. As the work enters the world and is shared with you, it begins a new journey. It is my hope the pieces you interact with will spark connection, curiosity, and wonder. I invite you to join me on this journey.
